About Event

In the wake of the George Floyd movement, there was a surge in support for black founders and venture capitalists. Just three years later, much of that energy and commitment has disappeared, and in many cases, it has been replaced by direct antagonism towards DEI initiatives.

Join us for this private gathering to engage with industry leaders, share insights, and shape the future of diversity in tech in these times. During this event, we will explore questions like: Are diversity-focused funds finding it harder to secure investments? Is this shift in support for diversity the new norm? And how is the current “ghost recession” across the tech industry contributing to these challenges?

But let’s not just identify the issues; let’s also discuss how to move forward. You’ll hear from LPs, VCs, and ecosystem builders on how they’re navigating this new landscape.

Meet our panel:

Preston James, Co-Founder & CEO. DivInc
Elisa Sepulveda, Angel Ventures
Joey Womack, Goodie Nation
Nate Jones, Kapor Center Investment
Ansley Carlisle, Mark Cuban Companies

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation during AfroTech week in Austin.
