Introduction
ALIENQUEEN X Artverse is proud to present Love and Death, the first solo exhibition by ALIENQUEEN. This powerful collection draws inspiration from her life as a Cambodian refugee, born in a Thailand refugee camp after the horrors of the Killing Fields.
The exhibit explores her childhood in suburban Connecticut, where feelings of isolation and sadness overwhelmed her as an immigrant child.
Through her work, she reflects on the deep longing for acceptance and love, and how art became a crucial outlet for expressing her emotions and struggles. Art became her solace as a lonely child, grappling with the trauma of hearing the genocide stories that shaped her family's past.

The Theme
Love and Death dive into themes of her Cambodian heritage, death, and grief, with an emphasis on how life can change in an instant. It is a meditation on the beauty of love and the urgency to cherish every moment, as death is inevitable. ALIENQUEEN questions her existence, pondering whether she would have been born had it not been for the genocide that scarred her homeland. Through her work, she seeks meaning and purpose, capturing her journey from pain to self-discovery.
Her art is a testament to resilience, an exploration of identity, and a powerful reminder to embrace love before it’s too late. ALIENQUEEN embodies the essence of the American Dream—transforming hardship into art and finding purpose in the face of darkness.
