About Event

Join Reach Capital, TFA’s Reinvention Lab, SchoolAI, & aiEDU on Thursday, June 22 for a half-day hackathon.

We’ll use Playlab, a platform that makes it easy for educators and students to build, remix, and share their own AI-powered tools — no technical experience required! We’ve seen educators create everything from tools to help them design project-based learning experiences to IEP compliance tools — and we're excited to see what you'll create!

We’ll provide lunch and refreshments. All you’ll need is a laptop and some ideas!

Special thanks to NewSchools Venture Fund for hosting.

P.S. This isn’t your normal Bay Area Hackathon. We’re educators from diverse backgrounds interested in using AI to reinvent education. We also recognize that AI systems have limitations, including algorithmic bias – and we hope to explore the possibilities & limitations with you.

Schedule

12:00 | Welcome & Lunch

1:00 | Kickoff
Everyone who wants to will pitch ideas. We’ll form groups and jump into the sprint together. Bring an idea or plan on joining a group you're excited about.

2:00 | Build
Get into groups and work on an idea with other educators. We'll have people on-site who can help you get unstuck or push forward on an idea.

4:00 | Demos
We’ll invite every group to share what they came up with during the day
