About the speaker
Hi, my name is Arun Somasekharan. I am a software engineer with around 15 years of industry experience. Some point in the not so distant past, I did a PhD in the application of artificial intelligence in the field of computer graphics and animation, from the National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA) at Bournemouth University in southern England. Upon completion, I worked as a graphics engineer in the film and visual effects industry in London, writing pre-visualization software for camera tracking. Currently, I am a senior software engineer writing mostly microservice architecture programs.
Outside of work, when I'm released from the duty of a father of a 5 year old and a 14 year old, I spend a lot of time reading papers and articles and listening to talks related to machine learning, artificial intelligence, evolutionary algorithms and pondering on the nature of intelligence, both natural and artificial, and how the study of intelligence has become a multidisciplinary field.
