Inflection AI is making that a reality with their ground-breaking chatbot, Pi. Freshly boosted by an eye-popping $1.3 billion in funding, Pi is not your average chatbot. It serves as a life coach, confidant, and even a creative collaborator, all while being deeply intuitive and emotionally intelligent.

In the era of rapid technological advancements, the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence has transcended mere functionality.

In our first installment of #AIDAlounge, AI:DA seeks to delves into the fascinating world of AI as a friend, exploring how AI companions are reshaping the way we connect, communicate, and bond in the digital age. Through a panel discussion and a friendly networking session, we will uncover the complexities and opportunities presented by AI-driven friendships.

OUR PANEL

Dr Betty Tsai

Dr Betty Tsai is the Head of Talent Strategy & Outreach (AI Innovation) at AI Singapore (AISG). Passionate about AI and talent development, Betty speaks regularly on innovation, career development and people analytics. Previously, Betty was a Program Manager at Google and was a research scientist with Procter & Gamble (P&G). She graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). For her scientific achievements and thought leadership, Betty has been recognized with the P&G Power Portraits for Top 30 leaders and the NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award.


Jonathan Y. H. Sim

Jonathan is Associate Fellow of the NUS Teaching Academy, and Lecturer with the Department of Philosophy, at the National University of Singapore, where he teaches the Philosophy of Computing and Data Analytics and Chinese philosophy to both undergraduates and working professionals. He also teaches philosophy to the elderly as part of a collaboration between NUS and the National Silver Academy. For his passion in teaching and his effective teaching methods, Jonathan won the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (FTEA) in 2019 and 2021.

Tannie Nicholas-Tang

Tannie Nicholas-Tang is a multidisciplinary polymath, and is one of the co-founders of AI:DA, a SDG Goal #3 Impact Startup, focusing on AI and Mindfulness. She has been active in Web3 and cryptocurrency since 2020, building and nurturing communities such as Web223, Web3Wed and Women in Blockchain Asia.

In the past, Tannie was better known as one half of the Second Helpings team, featuring their award-winning artisanal Beenut Butters that has been enjoyed around the world.

With a background in Psychology and strong interest in wellness, spirituality and healing, she also champions Men’s Mental Health—advocating support, understanding and positive change in the space.

Sabrina Wang

Sabrina Wang is a pioneering entrepreneur in the wellness industry, celebrated for her visionary leadership and dedication to holistic well-being. Recognized as one of the "30 Entrepreneurs of the Year" by The Silicon Review, USA, Sabrina has also received prestigious awards such as the Spirit of Enterprise and the Singapore SME 500 Award. Her transformative work has been featured in renowned publications, including The Straits Times and The Business Times, making her a prominent figure in the wellness startup landscape.

Sabrina's unwavering commitment to redefining wellness as a way of life continues to inspire and empower individuals worldwide, solidifying her status as a beacon of hope and innovation in the pursuit of a healthier, happier future.
