Fractal University Toronto Sensemaking Salon
Warm hello from Chris, Phil, and Yuli :)
You’re invited to a sensemaking salon for a few of our favorite builders, educators, and cultural weavers to explore what it might look like to co-create a community-led university in Toronto — one that helps us meet the complexity of our times with wisdom, skill, and collective capacity.
This gathering is part of the early formation of Fractal Toronto, a local node in the growing Fractal ecosystem: a neighborhood-scale platform for whole-human development that blends intentional housing, learning, tech incubation, creative expression, and community infrastructure — designed to cultivate scenius and regenerate the social fabric.
Tonight, we’re turning our attention to one core pillar: Fractal University – a community-led learning ecosystem designed to help us grow as whole humans and navigate the complexity of our time.
We’ll explore questions like:
What does it look like to build a citywide scenius for learning?
What skills, wisdom, and ways of knowing are missing from conventional education?
How can we collaborate across Toronto to offer learning experiences that help people grow emotionally, relationally, creatively, and spiritually — not just cognitively?
What would a Department of Connection or School of Belonging feel like?
What does a well-rounded education for the meta-crisis look like?
This is both an inquiry and an invitation: to co-design the learning infrastructure that doesn’t exist yet — but that our communities are yearning for and already building towards.
This will be an intimate, informal evening structured around:
Check-ins – arriving together, sharing what’s alive
Inquiry Mapping – surfacing and exploring the most alive questions in the room
Open Conversation – letting the energy guide us toward what wants to be built
Please arrive fed, and we’ll have some snacks available (But! We’re checking dietary preferences and if easy we’ll arrange for food and let you know, and update this event description).
