This event is open to all who have an interest in exploring how systems thinking can be applied to social or environmental issues, and want to learn more about the Map the System program.
What is it?
Map the System is a one-of-a-kind interdisciplinary challenge created by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford, that requires participants to use a systems-thinking approach to demonstrate a deep understanding of a pressing social or environmental challenge.
This presentation competition represents the culmination of two (2) months of learning completed by a diverse group of students from across UCalgary who enrolled in this year’s Map the System competition. The teams have demonstrated exceptional creativity and dedication to exploring their chosen social issue and are invited to present their findings live to a panel of judges for a chance to win a first-place prize of $2,500, a second-place prize of $1,500, and a third-place prize of $500. This final experience is designed to help teams commit to their research and connect with relevant supporters who can help them take their next steps.
