AA (Asians Anonymous): Free Group Therapy for Queer East + Southeast Asians
Join us for AA (Asians Anonymous)
A monthly series of free group therapy sessions focused on the mental health of the queer East & Southeast Asian (ESEA) community.
Led by RED FLAGGED (a queer-led community for East & Southeast Asians) and facilitated by Voda (the award-winning LGBTQIA+ mental wellness app), AA aims to create a safe space and support the mental health of the ESEA LGBTQIA+ community led by queer ESEA therapists.
Join us for the fifth session of the series on 8 Nov (Friday). This week's theme is on movement and the body as a medium for healing and expression, titled “Moving Our Queer Bodies”, facilitated by the wonderful David Kam, Movement Artist.
We will engage in a series of simple movement games before coming together in a sharing circle, and space to mingle and connect after. These invitations are tailored to welcome curious individuals across varying physiques, neurodivergences and dis/abilities.
No prior movement training of any form required. Please arrive in or bring comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely (no need for full workout gear, but equally avoid anything that will restrict movement). You can also opt out and witness whenever needed. As there may be an extended period of time being on our feet, please share any specific mobility needs or access requirements you may have.
Your comfort and ease are our priority, so don’t hesitate to let us know how we can best support you.
Note also that the event will be photographed. Please share your consent with the organiser so the event can be documented with utmost care to the group’s request.
About AA
Each AA session will provide a supportive environment to explore personal experiences, share stories, and develop coping strategies, enhancing personal growth and community well-being.
This initiative is not only a therapeutic space but also a celebration of queer ESEA identities, contributing to a broader understanding and acceptance.
The sessions are taking place at Queer Britain (the first and only LGBTQ+ museum). For location & accessibility details check here.
Be a part of this transformative journey. Please only RSVP if you can make the date, as slots are very limited.
