About the Exhibition: Momento
Gabriella Furno’s artistic practice explores the intersection of music, movement, and emotion, translating the energy of a fleeting moment into visual form. Like a musical composition shaped by notes and rhythm, Furno’s paintings and sculptures link gestures through color and dynamic brushstrokes, creating a resonant, visual narrative.
Inspired by dance and the human figure, her works capture overlapping lines that vibrate with restrained emotion—transforming into frenetic, almost musical movements across the canvas. In a world overwhelmed by constant stimuli, Furno’s work offers a pause: a moment of reflection and immersion, inviting viewers to trace connections, follow rhythms, and experience a deep emotional resonance.
Momento explores silence amidst chaos, much like the stillness after a final note fades in a concert hall. It invites visitors to focus, to find rhythm in form and space, and to experience the human search for balance in an increasingly fast-paced world.
Guest Exhibition: New Identity
Alongside Gabriella Furno’s Momento, guest artists Osman Özel and Yağmur Kural present New Identity, a sculptural dialogue questioning and reconstructing traditional perceptions of the human body. Through a blend of geometric forms, textiles, and organic materials, their collaborative compositions explore tension, distortion, and the fluid boundaries of identity.
Osman Özel is a contemporary photographer and director based in Berlin, whose practice bridges modernist and orientalist influences, shaped by his roots in Istanbul. His visual storytelling expands across photography, film, and multidisciplinary installations.
Yağmur Kural, a Berlin-based conceptual artist and creative director, merges visual art and fashion styling in her work. Drawing from a background in fashion design and sculpture, she critically examines the commodification of contemporary culture through dynamic objects and installations.
A Dialogue in Movement and Form
Together, Özel and Kural invite viewers into a surreal landscape where identity is fragmented and reimagined—a powerful counterpoint to the emotional landscapes captured in Momento.
We warmly invite you to experience this exhibition at Awen’s iconic space overlooking Berlin—a setting designed for reflection, connection, and artistic discovery.
