Let's Write About Nature! An Earth Day Event with ImagineEarth Collective and Up Dog Yoga Community.
Have you ever stared at a blank page – at work or on your own time – and thought, "How do I make the story I want to tell pop?" Nature writing is one of the best places to start for exercising the muscles that can make us all better storytellers. How can I make the mountains into a character? How can I turn the weather into mood? The flowers into affection or the rain into affliction? Join this 1-hour workshop where we'll discuss some of the greatest excerpts in nature writing, take on some writing exercises, and finish with a chance to share the fruits of your writing. By the end, you'll have more resources in your toolbox not only to write about nature, but to be a better storyteller for whatever stories you're trying to tell in the future.
This workshop will be hosted by Ben Hatt, a speechwriter, screenwriter, playwright – and all-round storyteller – based in Washington, D.C. This event is part of a larger Earth Day extravaganza hosted with ImagineEarth Collective, Up Dog Yoga Community, and Grand Cata DC.
