Cloud Native Geospatial Meetup: GIS Week
Welcome to the November edition of the Cloud Native Geospatial Meetup! It'll be GIS week, and we have some great topics to blow the doors off traditional GIS, but hey, we are biased.
First, we want to welcome not one but two speakers from Google joining this session, Vishal Sadhnani from the Google Maps team sharing an exciting new product update. And Katie Friis from the Google Earth Engine team speaking to some of the work the team is doing with the open source community.
In addition to these folks we look forward to hearing from Jia Yu, CTO of Wherobots who will be sharing the latest update to Apache Sedona and WherobotsDB for distributed kNN and Approximate kNN joins. Then we will wrap up with Linda Stevens who will be talking a little bit about the backstory of GIS day, as she helped create it back when she was at ESRI a number of years ago. We will chat with her about the history and future of cloud native geospatial.
That should round it out for this session. Please let us know if you want to get involved in the next edition. We are always looking for new topics of interest!
Speakers:
