About Event

We’re delighted to have Marina Deeny, the Director of People at Via, come to meet with our members to discuss the variety of roles the charity is recruiting for.

Our members tell us they are looking for jobs which give them a chance to do something which gives them a sense of purpose and, by coming to this meeting, you’ll get to hear about the variety of roles and ways in which VIA helps its clients.

The reason we were keen to invite Via in is for the following reasons:

  • They’ve signed up to the Centre for Ageing Better pledge – meaning they are happy and will welcome applications from our demographic.

  • They offer a high degree of job flexibility.

  • Their salaries are upper quartile for the charity sector – ranging from £28,000 - £32,000

  • Training will be provided IF you have the right values and are the right person so this is a genuine chance to move into something new, to learn something different whilst making a meaningful difference to peoples lives.

  • People who work at VIA get a range of other benefits from time off for birthdays to a workplace culture which is supportive and friendly.  Most people working here are choosing to do so and that shows.

Through the discussion you’ll learn about:

  • The application process

  • The type of person they are looking for

  • The variety of roles on offer – for some roles specific qualifications are needed, so we’ll be clear which ones are more appropriate for those transitioning into the sector

  • The organisation and how they help

  • What others value about working there
