About The Speaker:
Dr. Lisa Peña is an educator, visual communication designer, and design researcher. She currently serves as Program Head of the Graphic Design program at ASU's The Design School. Dr. Peña has been teaching information design, inclusive and discrimination design, and professional development courses for the past 17 years. In 2022, she obtained her Ph.D in Design, Environment and the Arts for her research on 18th and 19th century historic information design. Since 2015, she has served as the AIGA student group advisor, where she has assisted her students in traveling nationally and internationally to learn about different design cultures. She is also a member of International Institute for Information Design. Dr. Peña has shared her design work at local and international conferences.
