Architect Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta, Légion d’Honneur recipient
Join us for Franco-Mexican architect Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta’s talk “Architecture à la Mexicana.”
Gómez-Pimienta is celebrated for a design language that blends modernist precision with the cultural richness of Mexican heritage. As the founder of BGP Arquitectura and former co-director of TEN Arquitectos with Enrique Norton, his acclaimed projects include the Hotel Habita, the Ave Fénix Fire Station, and the renovation of the iconic Teatro de los Insurgentes. He also led the regeneration and redesign of one of the main streets in Mexico, Presidente Masaryk. His work spans architecture, furniture, urban and industrial design, and has earned him over 120 international awards, including the Mies van der Rohe Prize for Latin America.
In 2007, Gómez-Pimienta was named a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur in recognition of his contributions to culture and design. He was until recently Dean of the School of Architecture at Universidad Anáhuac Mexico City, mentoring the next generation of architects.
Gómez-Pimienta will reflect on the fusion of identity, memory, and innovation in contemporary Mexican architecture. Whether you're a design professional or just passionate about architecture, this is a rare opportunity to hear from one of Latin America's most influential voices.
