About Event

Who are we collectively as a community? What is possible? What lives at the center of all of our dreams of a more beautiful Salt Spring? What can we do here and now to move incrementally towards a more beautiful world right here in our community?

If these questions inspire you, please consider joining us for an evening of visionary panelists, participatory dialogue, and community building. Further activating and developing the grassroots movement building efforts already underway here on Salt Spring and across Cascadia, you’ll hear from a number of visionary leaders to inspire you with insights, experiments, and templates that our community could directly apply in our own self-organizing movement to transform Salt Spring into a global leader in sustainability, circularity, and commons stewardship. After the panel, we’ll spend the rest of the evening in facilitated “open space” that will support a community dialogue around our own desires, needs, and visions for our beloved island home.

This community convening is intended to weave Salt Spring within the larger regenerative movement and to activate a deeper sense of solidarity and beloved community amongst local community members and civic stewards. Hosted by OpenCivics (opencivics.co) and Salt Spring’s own Patricia Parkinson and her co-founder Benjamin Life, we want to leave you with a felt sense of hope, possibility, and connection with new friends and allies.

Doors open at 5pm.
Programming will run 6-9pm.
Open space until 10pm.
