Sweaty Hour: Dawg Days of Summer
"I wanna have some fun. There's not enough fun going on anymore. Where is the fun? Where is the disco?"
- RuPaul
WE'RE HERE TO DANCE. Join us for another sweaty hour, a low-key dance sesh to move through the dog days of summer.
No agenda, just you, good music, and friends. Bring your hiphop, your 90s, your disco, your groove.
Why? Because dance is powerful, dance is spiritual, and it's the basis for activism, change, and growth. Just as a dog instinctively shakes to move tension off its body, we humans need to shake too! Release and reset. Our movement is our call to action. Let's keep the fire going.
Agenda(ish):
6:45: What’s this dance thing we’re doing? Quick intro 🙂
6:50: DANCE TIME
7:20: Water Break / Stretch
7:30: DANCE TIME
8:00: Bye!
Community Guidelines
Water is life! Bring a water bottle. This is a trash-free event.
No spiked heels, please. The dance floor is delicate and we don’t want to puncture it. Sneakers are great!
Leg weight/ arm weights? If you want to amp up your session (woof), give it a go!
We are a judgment-free space. Feel free to observe other people’s movements but don’t be creepy, please.
Who are we?
Sweaty Hour is a series where you simply show up and ... dance. We're two dance enthusiasts who recently moved to SF from NYC and wanted to recreate the open and vibrant dance scene we treasured. In the words of RuPaul, "There's not enough fun going on anymore. Where is the fun? Where is the disco?"
Sweaty Hour isn't a nightclub or a fitness class. No coordination or fancy outfits required, only good music, moves, and community. Rinse and sleep. All before 9pm.*
*We sometimes go out for brunch, pizza, or a beer after, but no pressure.
