βAbout the speaker: Elica Kyoseva is Director of Quantum Algorithm Engineering at NVIDIA, where she leads the development of quantum algorithms for hybrid quantum-classical computing platforms. Dr. Kyoseva has more than 15 years of experience in the field of quantum computing and has held leadership positions in academia, venture capital, and industry. Dr. Kyoseva was formerly the Program Director of Quantum for Bio, a $50M 2.5-year long program by Wellcome Leap, whose goal is the development of quantum algorithms for pressing human health challenges. She conceived, launched, and spearheaded Quantum for Bio in its inaugural year, supporting over 200 researchers worldwide in meeting the program's objectives. Additionally, Dr. Kyoseva is a member of the scientific advisory board at the Open Quantum Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.
βModerator: Suman Lal is the Managing Director of Technology Innovation Studio (TINS), a Senior Advisor to the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) and the Venture Cafe Global Institute (VCGI). Suman's primary interest is in technology commercialization where he has accumulated deep experience as an operator for the last 15 years, including working on three biotech start-ups in the area of stroke, neuropathic pain and solid tumors. Suman has an MD in clinical medicine and an MSc in human genetics and did his PhD in precision medicine & clinical pharmacology. He also received his MBA from MIT as a Sloan Fellow, focusing on innovation and global leadership.
