Building with Resilience: Financing an Insurable Future for Los Angeles
The Resiliency Company, SidePorch and the Justice Climate Fund are hosting a DC Climate Week gathering with our friends at Buck Mason.
Matt Posner, Sean Knierim and Shiva Patel will be at the LA-founded brand in Georgetown to support the community focused on rebuilding Los Angeles and engaged on the future of resilience finance, insurance innovation and community engagement.
This evening event will bring together stakeholders in Los Angeles and participants in DC's Climate Week to drive the conversation forward around the Delta Fund —an initiative to rebuild homes in LA to an insurable standard through grants, loans, and public finance.
Together, we’ll explore how community-rooted capital, policy alignment, and financial innovation can drive a safer, more insurable LA—and how this model can scale nationwide. This is one of several precursors to our June event in Los Angeles.
For those unable to join us on Tuesday evening, Sean and Matt will be hosting a coffee gathering on Wednesday morning at Tatte on Connecticut and 18th near Farragut. Come by to join with others pulling for the forces of good.
The event will feature:
Informal conversations with leaders in insurance, finance, and housing
Insights into the Delta Fund’s model for rebuilding homes and restoring trust in high-risk communities
Locally crafted cocktails and Made-in-LA gear to support the LA economy
A chance to network with others advancing climate resilience through community-centered finance
