About our speakers:
Dr. Tessa Tinkler serves as Director of Research and Evaluation for The Nonprofit Institute at the University of San Diego. With a background in education and psychology, she has twenty years of experience conducting research and evaluation in schools and nonprofit organizations and has experience working collaboratively with many different stakeholders to assess a wide diversity of programs. In her role at The Nonprofit Institute, she leads the contracted evaluation projects and ongoing research studies on San Diego’s nonprofit sector. Tessa received her PhD in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2006. Her recent work has included community-wide needs assessments across a broad range of topics, supporting partnerships between nonprofits and foundations around community impact, research on early childhood STEM education initiatives, and the economic impact of the nonprofit sector.
Marius van Dongen is a fourth year Environmental Studies student and current Leaders20/20 intern excited about entering the climate and coastal space. Marius has a vested interest in climate data, applied science, and nonprofit leadership. Last summer, Marius spent time interning at an environmental consulting firm, and now works with Leaders20/20 as a CollegeCorps fellow, assisting with community organization outreach, event coordination, and modest project support for the Equinox Quality of Life Dashboard through NPI. In the near future, Marius plans to continue working with Leaders20/20 as an intern, investing more time on key projects and working closely alongside San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative.

Their mission is simple - to champion climate action, diversity, and local communities through our wine selection by prioritizing environmentally-conscious packaging and low-intervention winemaking from producers who care about the planet.
They also uphold our commitment to the community by donating a portion of our sales to local non-profits that directly impact San Diego (including our friends at Tree San Diego!).
