DAY TRIP | AITONA AND LLEIDA: PINK ROUTE
Aitona is a municipality in Catalonia, located in the province of Lleida, within the Segrià region.
With a population of 2,500 inhabitants, its main economic activity is agriculture, particularly fruit orchards.
The Segrià region is one of the best areas for planting these types of trees because it is very flat, warm, and the fertile land is near the Segre River. The main fruit trees are peach and nectarine trees.
At the beginning of March, one of the most beautiful spectacles occurs: the blooming of the trees, creating a landscape filled with pink hues. This phenomenon lasts around three weeks and depends heavily on the weather, as rain and wind can affect the blossoming.
Lleida is one of the oldest cities in Catalonia and the capital of the Segrià region. It has hosted various cultures throughout its history.
Notable landmarks include the old cathedral, or Seu Vella (a Romanesque-Gothic temple), the Zuda walls (an Arab fortress), Paeria Square, and Cathedral Square.

Full Pack: A guided tour lasting an hour and a half, led by a local farmer. You will explore private estates to see the blooming process up close from within the fields and learn about the entire blossoming process.
