NYC Pickleball Fall Happy Hour
We're back at it again with our second happy hour of the year!! Join us next Friday, November 1st, from 6-9 PM at Sugar Mouse in the East Village, for games (PICKLE PONG 🏓), drink specials, and ~good vibes~ to kick off your weekend ✨
Get there by 6:30 PM for our "Pier 2 Pro" Q&A session featuring Kelsey Grambeau and Duy Tran, two local NYC players who have found career paths in pickleball after starting on the handball courts at Pier 2! Learn more about how they got here, what's next, and their perspectives on the pickleball landscape both inside and outside of New York City.
Kelsey Grambeau is a professional pickleball player sponsored by Six Zero. Since going pro in 2023, Kelsey has had several quarter- and semifinal appearances on the APP tour, with a bronze medal in Cincinnati and a gold medal at the England APP this year. She was a member of the NY Hustlers MLP team the Fall of 2023, and was drafted to the Chicago Slice earlier this year. Incredibly, Kelsey continues to work full time as an account executive at LeagueApps while also playing a full time professional tour schedule.
Duy Tran is the Director of Pickleball and runs all pickleball operations at PKLYN, the first dedicated indoor club in Brooklyn. With several years of pickleball experience competing in tournaments and coaching, as well as an extensive background in tennis instruction, Duy approaches player development and programming with a deep understanding of racquet sports and learning theory. He has been involved as a community leader in Brooklyn from the early days of Pier 2, taping courts and running clinics, drill sessions, and open plays.
Both Kelsey and Duy have been fixtures of the local community, and are each putting NYC pickleball on the map in different ways. We are thrilled to have them as guests!
The bar will be running happy hour drink specials from 6-8 PM, and we'll have a ping pong table and a pool table booked for games from 7-9 PM, after the Q&A session.
