Audioreactive Painting In TouchDesigner
How can we deploy AI while retaining our artistic agency?
In this one-of-a-kind workshop led by Yiou Wang of creative studio Mixanthropy, participants become empowered creators at the intersection of AI and artistic expression. You'll master the tools, workflows, and technical underpinnings to craft mesmerizing audio-reactive visuals in TouchDesigner using StreamDiffusion.
Each student will complete a mini-project while discovering how to harness AI as an artistic collaborator rather than a replacement. Through hands-on exploration of key parameters, you'll develop the skills to create stylized, deeply personal, and visually captivating "liquid" paintings that respond to sound in real-time.

A soundtrack of your choice in .mp3 or .wav format
A computer capable of running StreamDiffusion:
MacOS: Apple Silicon M1 chip or newer, 16GB RAM, Python 3.10+
Windows: CUDA-compatible NVIDIA GPU, 16GB RAM, Python 3.10+
Meet Yiou Wang
Yiou Wang is a multimedia artist, scenographer, and creative technologist whose practice focuses on storytelling and worldbuilding across the physical and virtual realms. She is also the co-founder and creative director at Mixanthropy Studio, a multidisciplinary art-tech studio creating ancient-future myths using emergent technologies.
Yiou holds a M.Arch. from Harvard University. Her works have been exhibited at institutions and festivals including SXSW, SIGGRAPH, MIT Museum, Asian Media Arts Festival, and the New Museum of Networked Art.
