Research ❤️ Design The overlooked power couple

Researchers rarely think about design. And designers rarely think about research.

That makes little sense today. For Lotta Partanen (Aalto graduate, now at VTT) and Maija Itkonen (Aalto graduate, now at Oneger Bio), design is rocket fuel in combination with research.

But few others are combining the two effectively. That means a great opportunity for you!

This event has two sides: The perspectives of you as a researcher and you as a designer. Lotta and Maija both share practical insights and best practices when involving designers in research projects while taking into account the needs of both roles.

During the event, you will get the opportunity to ask questions and interact. After the main part, there is an opportunity to chat with the speakers and to connect with the audience of both researchers and designers.

Speakers:

Lotta Partanen (Manager Incubation and Acceleration at VTT)

Lotta is an innovation designer with +15 years of experience in business renewal in international business environments. With experience from Philips, Nokia and Fortum, Lotta currently leads the science-based spin-off incubator VTT LaunchPad, and other incubation and acceleration activities at VTT Research.

Maija Itkonen (CEO & Co-founder at Onego Bio Ltd)

She is an enthusiastic, creative & visionary leader, industrial designer, brand builder, design manager, tech lover and entrepreneur. She has a design thinking approach; is an innovative challenger, strategic thinker and solution builder, interested in design and technology trends, building innovations and inspiring people.

From Lab to Market event series is organized by Aalto Ventures Program, VTT Launchpad, Aalto Startup Center, and Aalto Innovation Services. The events are hosted by Rasmus Basilier, CEO of The Authentic Content Company
