Join us for our online series ‘Social Founders Talk’, where we invite social founders to engage in a meaningful and honest conversation about their experiences along their founder journeys. Followed by an audience Q&A.
In this session, Yvonne Field OBE will be interviewed by Jake Ferguson, and they’ll will dive into the joys and the complexities of founding and growing social justice organisations. The two will speak about the resilience and skills acquired as founders who fought for equity and representation for minoritised groups. They’ll share their experience moving through the key founder stages.

Yvonne Field, Founder & CEO, The Ubele Initiative
Yvonne Field, OBE is a social justice advocate and entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience working with individuals, groups, and organizations in the UK and around the world. She is the Founder and CEO of The Ubele Initiative, an organization that empowers Black and Minority Ethnic communities in the UK to act as catalysts for social and economic change.
She is a passionate advocate for social justice and equality and a tireless champion of the rights of Black and Minority Ethnic communities. Her work has had a significant impact on the lives of many people and has had a positive impact on the lives of many people. She is an inspiration to us all.
Jake Ferguson, Founder, Baobab Foundation & Black Men 4 Change
Jake has over 25 years working in the charity sector focused on addressing inequality and systemic racism. He has raised over £45m for Black and Global majority communities. From his beginnings as the CEO of Hackney CVS he built the organisation into the largest local infrastructure body in London.
He is a founder and influencer on many levels. He has established the Baobab Foundation; Hackney Giving; Black Men 4 Change and the Hackney Improving Outcomes for Young Black Men initiative. He has also helped to create the Alliance for Police Accountability. He was a founding member of the London Violence Reduction Unit and is an ongoing member of the London Partnership Board supporting the creation of the Building a Fairer City Action Plan.He is a former trustee of NCVO and NAVCA.
