MICROCRAFT Townhall Meeting
The MICROCRAFT Townhall Meeting is your opportunity to understand the current plans and help shape the direction for a new UK semiconductor capability that will provide a national NEMS/MEMS microfabrication pathway.
MICROCRAFT will provide the UK with an open-access platform for NEMS/MEMS design, microfabrication, and microsystems integration, building on the Multi-part wafer services offered by the facilities at the University of Southampton in collaboration with the system design capabilities of the University of Bristol. It will support rapid prototyping, shared wafer runs, and design enablement for researchers, startups, and engineers working in fields such as:
Microdevices and sensors
Quantum and AI hardware
Healthcare and lab-on-chip systems
Advanced packaging and integration
This event is an opportunity to:
✅ Learn how MICROCRAFT works and what capabilities it offers
✅ Discover how to access shared wafer runs and bespoke fabrication
✅ Influence and help shape the formation of design rules, packaging options, and training programmes
✅ Network with semiconductor researchers, engineers, and innovation leads from academia and industry
Whether you are an academic looking for prototyping access, a start-up needing a path to manufacture, an early-career engineer interested in hands-on fabrication training, or a seasoned semiconductor professional — we want to hear from you.
MICROCRAFT will be another important step in delivering the aims of the UK Semiconductor Strategy and we look forward to working with you to understand your needs, and build opportunities to work together to create a more resilient, inclusive, and innovative UK semiconductor ecosystem.
Your data will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Policy | University of Southampton.
