About Event

Join us for our first network Meetup of 2022!

What is it?

This meetup is an informal and collaborative space bringing together anyone in the Catalyst network with an interest in digital, design, data, community and the social sector.

There will be opportunities to:

  • Connect with each other and share updates

  • Hear from other organisations working on tech for good projects

  • Learn from speakers, panellists, and from each other.

What's this month's theme?

This Meetup we’ll be exploring digital maturity together. It seems that the phrase can mean very different things to different people. If you’re a charity just starting out on your digital journey, it can be baffling to try and understand how to become more ‘digitally mature’. If you’re an agency, you may often find yourself in the role of educating charities in this, before service design can even begin. If you’re a funder, it may be that you need to go on this journey too, to understand the needs of those you’re funding.

Whatever your situation, it helps to have a shared understanding of what 'digital maturity' means collectively and what the journey to becoming ‘digitally mature’ might look like depending on your organisation [or group].

We'll be hearing from Nissa Ramsay of Think Social Tech, researcher of the Charity Digital Skills Report and author of the Catalyst Digital Journeys report, which helped define the different stages charities typically progress through as they build digital capabilities. Also Fergus Arkley, Digital Innovation Manager at Power to Change will talk, who has been exploring digital maturity diagnostics as part of a support programme for community business grantees.

There will be space for group reflections and discussions. We’ll also have space to check-in on each other’s latest projects and to share your community shout-outs.

Who is it for?

This includes everyone from funders, agencies, charities, social enterprises, network / infrastructure organisations, freelancers and anybody interested in helping charities and nonprofits develop their digital capacity.
