Exciting sessions on the agenda:
Crafting quality that endures
When we build tools, we shape environments that will in turn shape us—and at Linear, Karri Saarinen has championed quality as the foundation, not an afterthought. In this talk, he'll share lessons from Linear's journey of prioritizing craft over process: the tools and approaches that elevate creativity, the challenges of maintaining quality at scale, and how designers can implement these principles regardless of their current environment. For those who find their vision constrained, Karri offers a compelling alternative: designers aren't just craftspeople but potential founders, capable of building the tools that future generations will thank us for.
Designing dystopia: the creative vision behind Severance
Jeremy Hindle is the award-winning production designer behind the highly stylized hit series Severance. His design of the hauntingly dystopian, eerily unsettling offices of Lumon Industries is essential to the show’s success, adding to the addictive unease that made the psychological thriller Apple TV+’s most watched series in platform history. Deeply influenced by surrealist filmmaker David Lynch, Hindle sees Severance as his personal Twin Peaks. He brings to the stage fascinating conversations on world-building, collaboration, and owning your creative process, as well as behind-the-scenes insights into the show’s most iconic visual moments.
Building the next computing platform
