Songs of Connection + Climate Cafe
Existential fears got you down? You’re not alone. Join us for a special climate cafe with singer/songwriter Benny Woodard, who will use original songs to prompt a healing communal discussion about climate grief.
Music can be like a magic carpet, carrying us out of the everyday “thinking and doing” mind into the subtle and reflective mind that lies beneath. When we arrive in this state of presence, we are tuned into the heart space that ties us together: We feel the shared fear, grief, and loss as well as the shared yearning for a better world. Benny’s highly personal songs and thoughtful leading questions will invite participants to feel safe sharing their personal feelings about the Climate Crisis and to connect with others who care just as deeply.
Brooklyn-based artist Benny Woodard sings songs of grief and compassion for a wounded world. His sweet, soulful voice carries us through the mountains and maple groves of Western Massachusetts, where he grew up. It winds through waterfalls and sycamore boughs, careens through cornfields and tobacco barns, floats through foxglove and mountain laurel, all with a poignancy that invites us to pause and reconnect with the earth beneath our feet.
