About Event

Join us for an evening celebrating innovative video essays produced by Columbia University students in the inaugural "Lab in the Video Essay" course. This showcase features films that demonstrate the possibilities of scholarly videographic criticism, ranging from reexaminations of classic and modern films to architectural critiques, from investigations of memory to engagements with unseen footage from Agnes Varda's archives.

We will screen films produced by students Lillian Cummings, Andrea De Bedout, Sam Gordon, Jesse Green, Grace Hecht, Donna Heffernan, Eric Huang, Mikka Kabugo, Ryan Kipness, Dana Lee, Hailee Watts, and Vane Weingrad.

Run Time: 120 minutes + Q&A with the video essayists.
