Each credit represents measurable actions—like tree planting or water conservation—contributing to climate resilience, offering investors both impact and accountability through blockchain technology.”

This event is an opportunity to dive into innovative financing mechanisms that address climate challenges while preventing community displacement. You'll hear from experts in climate action, green entrepreneurship, and adaptation strategies, providing valuable insights into how these credits are making a tangible impact on vulnerable communities.

The meetup will feature discussions on the future of adaptation credits, their role in sustainable development, and how you can be part of this transformative movement.

Meet Hawkar Abdulhaq

Hawkar Abdulhaq is a green entrepreneur who began his journey in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in 2019. He was one of the first in the area to take action on climate issues, launching successful projects focused on planting trees and recycling wastewater to promote sustainability. Seeing the increasing challenges of climate change and the displacement of local communities, he founded Hasar a nonprofit organization in Iraq dedicated to climate action through nature-based solutions.

Hawkar started Releafs to scale up these climate actions and provide innovative solutions, such as Climate Adaptation Credits, to vulnerable communities. The goal is to prevent displacement and enhance resilience by leveraging innovative financing and environmental strategies.

Hawkar's innovative methods aim to create solutions that can grow and support vulnerable communities while promoting long-term, sustainable change.

About Releafs

Releafs empowers vulnerable communities by providing innovative financial tools, such as Climate Adaptation Credits, to help them better cope with the effects of climate change. These credits act as resources or investments that support communities in adapting to climate challenges like extreme weather or rising temperatures. Using decentralised financing, Releafs makes funding more accessible by bypassing traditional banking systems, allowing people to both contribute to and benefit from these funds.

With the help of AI-powered solutions, Releafs ensures that resources are distributed efficiently, identifying where support is needed most and determining the best ways to use these funds. Its blockchain-based system guarantees transparency and security, recording every transaction in a way that cannot be altered. This ensures that funds are used properly, creating measurable environmental impact.

By focusing on smart, strategic investments, Releafs aims to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change, while also working to prevent displacement due to environmental challenges.
