Doing Business with the Government of Canada
The federal government is one of the largest buyers of goods and services in Canada, and this session will help businesses learn how they can tap into this huge potential market.
The federal government buys just about everything, including goods (ranging from food and beverage items to custom manufactured products), services (ranging from catering or snow clearing to professional and technical services such as training, HR, IT, engineering, or environmental services), and real property services (such as grounds maintenance or janitorial services). Small Canadian companies are well positioned to provide the Government of Canada with most of the goods and services it needs every year.
Amy Jones is an Outreach Officer with Procurement Assistance Canada, part of Public Services and Procurement Canada. Amy helps smaller and diverse businesses by raising awareness of how the government buys goods and services and providing assistance with navigating the process.
During this presentation, Amy will explain how the federal government buys goods and services, as well as how to register as a supplier and find opportunities. The session will also include a demonstration of navigating federal electronic procurement tools such as CanadaBuys.Canada.ca and SAP Ariba.
