Minerva Hacks - AI in Education | Hackathon & Essay Contest
Calling all SF coders, writers, problem-solvers, and everyone in between!
AI is changing the way we learn – but isn’t it making us lose critical thinking skills? At Minerva Hacks, we’re challenging you to create AI tools that for the better, redesigning teaching to have the learner at its center. Our purpose? To build and reflect on AI tools that make us focus better, memorize for longer, and think critically.
Over 24 hours, you’ll tackle real-world challenges in EduTech, AI, and cognitive science. Expect hands-on expert mentorship, inspiring panel discussions, and a chance to take your ideas further — plus $250 in prizes for the winner of each challenge (including the writing one!).
You can join as either coder or writer:
Coders will build solutions in small teams and pitch their projects at the end of the event. The challenge paths include:
AI for Better Memory Retention
AI Assistant for Learning Differences
Writers work on the prompt: “How can AI be used responsibly in education?” Challenge, reflect, or reimagine. The best essays will be published on our substack.
Come join us, and build something that switches the narrative of AI in education!
Want to code with your friends? Send them a link to this event! We’ll follow up with a form to put you together in a group.
You don’t have a team? Don’t worry! Apply and join us at the event - there will be networking time to pair up and find teammates.
