About Event

Join us for a free Writing Circle, where we cultivate a supportive space for writers at work to access their creativity without fear or judgment.

Whether you’re a professional writer or you “just write a lot” because your job demands it, writing for work can bring a lot of pressure. It can start to feel like a chore, and you can lose the sparkle that makes your writing worth reading (and that makes you proud to have written it).

In this writing circle, you’ll join other writers to reconnect with the more human, powerful side of your work writing. Your host, Dylan Tweney, will create a spacious, nonjudgmental framework for this session — we may start with meditation and short freewriting exercises. You’ll also have plenty of time to work on your writing projects. At the end, we’ll check in with one another and close the circle with encouragement and joy.

If needed, you can get help to get “unstuck” during the writing time, and there’s also a possibility to troubleshoot problems at the end of our session.

About Dylan: I am a writer, editor, journalist, open-water swimmer, and mindfulness practitioner. I’m the author of Storylines, a blog/newsletter where I’ve been sharing what I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about writing well with others. I spent over two decades in the fast-paced world of tech journalism, learning how to write fast, edit fast, and coach reporters to become great journalists. I’ve worked as a communications pro in the tech industry for the past decade.
