BYOB: Currents - Artists' Sharing, “Notes from Elsewhere"
Bring Your Own Beamer: Currents (BYOB: Currents) is a one-night community event on projector-based media. Featuring artists and creatives in Singapore, the event brings together real-time visuals, generative systems and new media pieces. BYOB: Currents is run in a shophouse, where visitors will traverse along a route across three floors of evolving setups and light-based experiments.
This event draws inspiration from the Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB) movement, a series of one-night exhibitions initiated by Anne de Vries and Rafaël Rozendaal in Berlin in 2010. This event envisions a democratised future for new media art and projection-based work, increasing accessibility to artists from different backgrounds.
