Mental Racing - race day tips for your mind
Do you struggle with the mental side of endurance events?
We work so hard to do all the physical training for our race, marathons, triathlons, trail runs, you name it - but often overlook or fail to prepare mentally as well.
In this talk, I (Alex) will be sharing some of my most recent mental struggles, and with the help of sports and psychology coach, Jason Lentzke, look at some tips and strategies that you can take into your next event and beat the mental game (or at least not be let down by it).
The event is open to everyone, and also a chance for you to bring your own questions and experiences to the group.
About the speakers:
Jason Lentzke: elite triathlete turned coach. Competed in Ironman 70.3 world champs. Coaching for over 20 years. Ironman certified, USAT certification.
Alex Thumwood: I'm part of team woowoo. Amateur, trying to get as fast as I can. Ironman finisher. Struggle more mentally than physically.
woowoo: woowoo is a community of normal people doing extraordinary things. We help each other achieve what we don't think we're able to. For some that's 3km, for some its 300.
Whilst the event is free, donations are appreciated and we put a % into a fund that goes towards helping people who don't have access to chase their dreams.
