Take what you do for fun and share it with your friends, neighbours, or people in your area —that’s a Fun Palace.
Expect a vibrant mix of creative activities with the Fun Palaces team sharing their skills, passions and interests — with an open invitation for you to join in or add your own! Together, we’ll explore how playful, grassroots creativity empowers communities and breaks down barriers.
Absolutely anyone can make a Fun Palace (yes – that means you!), and no experience needed. (We promise!)
This session is openly participatory — join in any activity you like or simply watch it unfold. You choose your level of involvement; everyone gets the chance to be an artist, scientist, and changemaker. You’ll leave with new ideas, connections, and a spark of joy for community-led culture.
We also hope to inspire you to join our campaign for cultural democracy—or to simply start a creative riot!
Our year-round campaign works towards a world where everyone has a say in what counts as culture, where it happens, who makes it and who experiences it.
Fun Palaces supports local people to co-create their own cultural and community events across the UK and worldwide, sharing and celebrating the genius in everyone. We have thousands of Fun Palace Makers taking part in our annual Weekend of Celebration each October and we believe communities should shape culture, with everyone's brilliance recognised and valued.
