Our guest for this upcoming Sunday is professional photographer GABRIELLE KANNEMEYER. The Ask Me Anything consultations will begin at 12:00 and finish at 15:00.
Ask Me Anything is an initiative, every Sunday in March, aimed at providing aspiring creative professionals and interested individuals with key insights from leaders in various fields through meaningful one-on-one conversation on the stoep of 120 Bree Street.
ABOUT GABRIELLE KANNEMEYER :
Gabrielle’s work celebrates the diverse environment of her upbringing, capturing vibrant colourscapes that highlight the beauty of humanity across various landscapes with a touch of surrealism. Throughout her career, Gabrielle has been a dedicated advocate for inclusivity in the creative process, fostering welcoming and accommodating spaces for everyone involved, both in front of and behind the camera. Creating a sense of calm and safety during her collaborations is of utmost importance to her.
Notably, Gabrielle has collaborated with a diverse range of clients, including brands such as Daily Paper, Adidas, Nike, Apple Music, Gucci, Netflix, Venus, Havana Club and many others. In addition to her commercial work, Gabrielle is deeply involved in documenting South Africa's horse cultures, her lens is focused currently particularly on horse shows and communities in the Western Cape's Overberg region. In one of her long term projects, she has been documenting the lives of young riders aged between 9 and 21 in a small valley full of wild-roaming horses as they navigate the remarkable worlds they have created for themselves.
Beyond her own photography, Gabrielle is teaching these young riders the art of photography, equipping them with the tools to tell their own stories through their own lenses and create archives to preserve their stories for the future.
ABOUT DUCK DUCK GOOSE :

Furniture will be provided by FEDE Arthouse to enable comfortable conversation on the sidewalk of 120 Bree Street between those who have come to the store for the same purpose. If your preferred slot is booked, we still encourage you to come in case there is a last-minute cancellation.
Ask Me Anything forms part of Sunday Street Experiment on Bree Street, initiated by Urban Mobility, the Mayor's Office at the City of Cape Town, Young Urbanists South Africa, and Street Experiments Afrika.
