The Hitchhiker Guide to Wiki
A 24-hour decentralized hackathon for the next 30 years of Wiki
🌌 On March 24 at 9 p.m. GMT, we kick off the first-ever Hitchhiker Guide to Wiki—a decentralized, 24-hour hackathon to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first wiki!!!
Infused with the chaos, humor, and imagination of a galaxy where “Don’t Panic” is solid advice—we’re gathering humans, bots, rebels, nerds, and networked thinkers to dream up what Wiki could be for the next 30 years.
This isn’t just nostalgia. We’re building.
A new prototype of the Guide is already in orbit—now it’s time to imagine how it evolves: interactive, decentralized, weirdly alive. You’ll find:
Discussions with Ward Cunningham (inventor of Wiki) and Jeremy Ruston (creator of TiddlyWiki)
A sneak peek at a new tech stack for Guide-building
Messy live coding and even messier livestreams
Global decentralized studios (London, Lisbon, Istanbul, Argentina, Nigeria, Malawi, USA… and counting to 42)
Everything is being documented, improvised, and co-created.

🌀 Expect the unexpected. This is just the MVP. Bigger events are coming in April and a full galactic Hitchhiker Congress in November.
