In the midst of an increasingly urgent climate crisis and a difficult political landscape for meaningful climate action in the United States, Climate Courage invites you to pause, reflect, and reconnect - with yourself, your story, and our community.
This interactive event, hosted by Environmental Defense Fund, Frontline Resource Institute, and Youth Climate Collaborative, centers emotion and the importance of community while doing our climate work. We’ll begin with a grounding workshop to share personal stories of climate action and reflect on how the climate crisis is impacting our lives, communities, and movements. Together, we’ll exchange strategies for self-care and community care that sustain us through burnout, grief, and the challenges of long-term climate action.
Following the workshop, join local artist Joy Reeves, a contributor to the Youth Climate Collaborative Climate Courage guided mental health journal, for an expressive and playful cartooning session. Joy will guide participants through creative prompts to help process emotions and envision possible futures.
Copies of the Climate Courage journal will be available for purchase during the event. We will accept cash as well as payments via Venmo and PayPal.
We’ll close with an open mic, featuring local artists whose work speaks to themes of resilience, justice, and hope, and give you the opportunity to share your voice!
Whether you’re a long-time activist, an artist, or simply someone trying to find your place in the climate movement, Climate Courage offers a space to be nourished, inspired, and reconnected to the power of creativity and community.
Let’s move forward - together - with courage.
