​Alex Leigh is an Investment Director at Future Planet Capital, which manages the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S). It is the largest pre-seed fund in the UK with £110m+ in assets under management, which is mostly in dry powder ready to deploy. Alex is the portfolio lead for the £18.5m Ministry of Defence backed Defence & Security Portfolio (known as D2S) and supports on the similar sized UKSA-backed Space Portfolio.

​With a rich background in venture capital, private equity and operational improvement, Alex has a proven track record helping deep tech and dual-use startups to thrive. His expertise spans frontier technologies in robotics, industrial software and military equipment.
