Joanne Fletcher is a pharmaceutical industry leader at GSK. In her role at GSK, she has been instrumental in advancing the company's research and development initiatives. With extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector, Fletcher has contributed to various strategic projects that have strengthened GSK's market position and innovative capabilities. Her expertise spans drug development, regulatory affairs, and cross-functional team leadership.
John Cassidy is an Investment Director at SoftBank Vision Fund and is focused on life sciences and health tech. Before joining SoftBank, he was an investor at biotech venture firm Arix Bioscience and a consultant in the life sciences practice of L.E.K. Consulting. John received a PhD in Neuroscience from University College London, a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London.
James O'Shaughnessy (Lord O'Shaughnessy) is a policy expert who served as a Conservative member of the House of Lords. He was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health from 2016 to 2018, focusing on health policy and NHS reform. O'Shaughnessy has been particularly influential in education reform and healthcare policy in the UK, and continues to be active in policy development through various advisory roles.
Michael Young is the co-founder of Lindus Health. Michael was previously a Special Advisor to the UK Prime Minister, where he advised the UK government on life sciences. He is passionate about improving health outcome and quality of life for people with long term medical conditions.
Suranga Chandratillake is a Partner at Balderton Capital, one of Europe's leading venture capital firms. He was previously an entrepreneur and engineer. Suranga founded blinkx, the intelligent search engine for video and audio content in Cambridge in 2004. He then led the company for eight years as CEO through its journey of moving to San Francisco, building a profitable business and going public in London where it achieved a peak market capitalisation in excess of $1Bn.
