ASC Excursion: Plant visit to Metsä Group's Lohja Kerto Mill
Aalto Sustainability Club invites you on the on the 23rd of May 8:00-14.00 for a day trip: a visit to Metsä Group's Lohja Kerto Mill and a unique opportunity to engage with experts on sustainability and circular economy.
Metsä Group, a Finnish forest industry leader, is aiming to be a forerunner in sustainable bioeconomy - from the forest all the way to the products. ✨ Metsä Group manufactures products from renewable wood, replacing the use of fossil raw materials. With a strong commitment to the strategic sustainability objectives by 2030, the company is paving the way towards a fossil-free future.
The event consists of a guided tour of the plant visit with a representative, followed by an explanation of each function, an in-depth presentation on organizational sustainability strategy and circular economy by Metsä Wood's Sustainability manager and Product Compliance Manager, a vegan lunch, and a Q&A session at the end.

📅 When: Thursday, 23rd of May, 8:00-14:00. Note that our rental coach leaves from Otaniemi at 8:00, as the visit starts at Lohja mill at 9:00 sharp! The return bus departs at 13:00 from the factory, and we anticipate returning to Otaniemi at 14:00.

🌱 Cost: The cost of this unique experience is 15 euros per participant. This includes transportation to and from Otaniemi-Lohja (as Lohja is one-hour drive away from Otaniemi, we have rented a bus for transportation), a vegan lunch, and an invaluable opportunity to meet top experts in the field!
