​How to Run FHE on Ethereum
We present a novel solution that makes it possible to deploy confidential smart contracts using fully homomorphic encryption directly on Ethereum, expressed in Solidity without changing the compiler stack and without sacrificing performance.

Last year, at EthCC 6 we presented a solution for building confidential smart contracts using fully homomorphic encryption. For performance reasons, that approach required augmenting the EVM on the L1s using it and, hence, put some limitations on where it could be deployed.

​In this talk, we present the evolution of our approach. This makes it possible, for the first time, to deploy confidential smart contracts directly on Ethereum. We do this without sacrificing performance, and we keep the same benefits as our previous solution: confidential smart contracts expressed directly in Solidity with support for composition and custom access control logic, without changes to the compiler stack.

​As part of the talk, we demonstrate how to concretely build a simple confidential smart contract using our approach.
