About Event

Are you an aspiring founder in Berlin who sometimes feels overwhelmed by the journey of launching a startup or becoming self-employed? You’re not alone.

Employed.World is here to create a safe, supportive space for people—especially those affected by layoffs—who want to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Whether you’re exploring a self-employment initiative or building your next big thing, we’re building a community that offers know-how, networks, and access to help you go further, together.

Important: Our meetup is within the amazing Venture Café Berlin Thursday Gatherings, please ask or look for the session event room on the reception/check-in and navigate to the room quickly after grabbing your drink :) Then we come back after our event to the network with the beautiful Venture Café community!

🌟 This month’s speakers:

1. Johannes Bader

Co-founder & CEO @heyroom

Title: “Let’s solve the housing crisis by fighting patriarchy and capitalism!”

Description: I started with a simple idea: helping people find the right roommates. We kept hitting walls, wondering why every f***ing dating app got all the hype and word-of-mouth — while we were solving something so fundamental, and nobody seemed to care.
Digging deeper, I realized: it’s about systems that keep us from truly caring for each other — and that’s why we also have a housing crisis. If we keep acting as isolated individuals, just chasing status, we’re lost. Patriarchal thinking and capitalist incentives will push us straight to hell if we don’t build a future rooted in care and solidarity.

I want to spark the courage to reject the status quo and create real impact — together.

2. Abbas Adel Ibrahim

CEO & Co-Founder at WeekOne
