About Event

Math is often seen as difficult or boring by students and even teachers. But, it can be a game! Dr. AnnMaria De Mars, a math educator with more than 30 years teaching experience from 7 Generation Games, will share how.

7 Generation Games works with schools, especially in ND and SD, and provides place-based educational games that lead to better math scores - 3x improvement over control groups. While playing the math games, students also learn Indigenous history as a part of the lessons.

The games are especially helpful at this moment because it makes it easy for substitute teachers to effectively teach in the classroom. The games can also be done remotely if needed by students who may be sick.

In this information session see how place-based math games improve outcomes and learn how to get started for free.

The program is sponsored by the USDA to help with remote learning. Teachers who sign up and participate in the Growing Math project after the webinar will receive a stipend.
