About Event

Join us for the June edition of BitDevs Kano, where we’ll dive into the why and how of running a Bitcoin full node, especially in the Nigerian context.

We’ll explore:

  • Why running a Bitcoin node matters (privacy, sovereignty, trust minimization)

  • Hardware and internet requirements in Nigeria

  • Different types of nodes (full, pruned, Lightning, etc.)

  • Step-by-step setup guides and tools (RaspiBlitz, Umbrel, Bitcoin Core)

  • Local constraints: electricity, internet, cost—and practical workarounds

This will be a Socratic-style discussion — no keynotes, just an open, technical dialogue led by and for developers. Whether you’re new to Bitcoin or already experimenting with nodes, you’ll leave with practical insights and community support.

Location
Enovatelab. No 16, Umar Babura Link, Badawa Layout. Kano, Nigeria
