Lean Mean Research Machine - FSO Speaker Series
About
Figuring Shit Out: events for Founders who don't normally go to events. You don't want or need another panel, and we hear you. So we did something radical - sit down with our speakers ahead of time to craft useful and powerful talks for the curious Founder beyond schlepping across town for palatable food & hopefully more than palatable networking.
We unpack the stories - the personal and professional mistakes, failures, and triumphs - that make opinionated entrepreneurs and professionals with fascinating career journeys see the world and approach problems the way they do.
Topic
Building a startup means moving fast. But that doesn’t have to mean cutting corners—especially when understanding your users, or developing and scaling your product.
Tara Hirebet (ex-Google Silicon Valley, ex-SVP of Research @GOJEK and 2 x TEDx and SXSW speaker), unpacks the art of scrappy (but not at all crappy) research, that you can implement- without a dedicated UX/UI researcher or team. We’ll show you how to approach some of the most common product and user needs, through tried and tested shortcuts, that are quick, actionable, and, dare I say it, even a little fun 🥳!
From how Pixar Stories teach Product Market Fit, to why Breakups are the key to finding your P0 Consumer Metrics to track and fix. Think of it as the "Freakonomics of research"—breaking down the complex, into memorable, relatable shortcuts, that you can easily apply, wherever you are in your product journey.
About the Speaker

She has led multinational teams to address complex challenges, from combating rideshare fraud to launching and scaling products in mass markets like Southeast Asia and Latin America. Tara has spoken at global events such as TEDx Singapore and SXSW and has been featured in publications including The Economist Intelligence Unit and The Business Times.
