A Conversation with Bogomil Balkansky: Partner @ Sequoia
Please join us in conversation with Bogomil Balkansky, Partner at Sequoia Capital. He is one of fewer than 20 partners investing in early-stage companies at Sequoia. Founded in 1972, Sequoia Capital is one of the most successful and storied venture capital firms in history, today managing over $85 billion. Over the course of the last 50 years it has backed iconic companies including Apple, Google, Paypal, AirBnb, YouTube and OpenAI. Their early stage portfolio now represents over 25% of the NASDAQ.
Balkansky led Sequoia’s seed investment in Wiz, which in March was acquired by Google for $32 billion - the largest acquisition in Google’s 26-year history. Sequoia reportedly made $3 billion on that investment alone. Balkansky started his career as a consultant at McKinsey, later moving to Stanford GSB and management positions at both VMware and Google before joining Sequoia.
