About Event

The 'NFT for Traditional Artists & Creatives' onboarding workshop is a donation-based, online workshop intended to help traditional/fine artists & creatives, i.e., artists (writers, and/or musicians) with an existing physical studio practice, understand the NFT space, create a NFT strategy that is reinforcing to their overall creative goals, and get started minting.

The workshop is designed to be what I wish someone told me when I first got started ~1y ago - explaining everything from crypto wallets to platforms, the different types of NFTs from 1/1s to PFPs, how to decide between platforms (Opensea, Foundation, etc.), examples of successful fine artists in the space, the importance of secondary sales and the dynamic it creates for collectors, and more. No prior knowledge is necessary - we will start from square one! But, the workshop is also fantastic for those who have already minted in the space but are having trouble getting traction.

About the facilitator: Alex (amac) Maceda is an abstract oil painter who has been creating NFTs since early 2021. She is passionate about both creating more economic opportunity and more business literacy for fine artists; she sees NFTs as a solve for the former, and thoughtful onboarding sessions like these as a solve for the latter. She has a full-time studio practice based out of Joshua Tree, CA and authored the article, 'The Case for Fine Art NFTs. Since launching this workshop in November, she has onboarded over 80 traditional artists into Web3.

The session is donation-based for artists and creatives with the intention of creating economic opportunity. A donation to compensate Amac for her time is appreciated, if you are able! If you are joining on behalf of a brand or company, please note that you will be asked to make a financial contribution to help subsidize the cost for artists.
