About Event

Presented by the UBC Sauder Centre for Climate and Business Solutions | Part of #PNWClimateWeek

How do we turn climate action into something consumers care about—and act on? This event explores how businesses can use sustainability metrics and authentic storytelling to engage consumers, build trust, and drive sales, without falling into the trap of greenwashing.

We’ll draw on insights from UBC Sauder's publication on "The Elusive Green Consumer" (Harvard Business Review), which highlights a persistent gap: most consumers say they want sustainable products, but few actually buy them.

Join us for a conversation on what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to communicating climate impact. Learn how companies are aligning their sustainability performance with brand strategy to meet the growing demand for climate-conscious products and services.

Confirmed Speakers
🎤 Brad Liski, CEO at Tru Earth (Category disruptor; Eco-strip laundry detergent)
🎤 Dr.Kate White, Professor of Marketing and Behavioural Science, UBC Sauder School of Business and Co-Author of the Elusive Green Consumer
More Speakers to be announced

📌 You can also register for an optional hands-on Climate Impact Workshop, covering carbon accounting, product carbon footprinting (PCF), and life cycle assessment (LCA). Learn which climate metrics matter most for your business—and how to get started here: https://lu.ma/3ootgwsq
